Aplication :
Twitter's Periscope
Introduction :
10 years a go, if you want to discover the world, you need to go to the exact place where it belongs, to see it by yourself. What if you could see
through the eyes of a protester in Greek ? Or watch the sunrise from a boot in Hawaii ? How about the idea of discovering the world through someone else’s eyes ?
I have been
watched someone rise above the Sonoma valley in a hot air
balloon; I
witnessed “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” directly from Ferguson, Missouri, a terrifying
fire that erupted in San Francisco’s Mission district and a live performance
from a pianist who played any song requested from the audience. Why can I do all of those thing ? I intoduce you, Twitter's Periscope.
Twitter's Periscope lets you watch or shoot live streaming
video and has a constantly updated list of live streams to browse. It has an
easy-to-understand interface, and the excitement of seeing what's happening
right now in other parts of the world is surprisingly compelling.
Positives and Negatives :
The positive side of this
application is, Periscope transmissions can be displayed both in a web browser as Twitter . And this integration allows users of the social
network also connect to your transmission , multiplying the
displays. Enables privacy
control . You can choose to broadcast live only visible to your
contacts or the public, so if you just want to share
your live stream to your close friend is also possible. You don’t have to worry if someone you don’t know see your craziness while
broadcasting with your best friend. This app also can save your broadcast for 24 hours. Upon completion of the streaming video can be in the application for users who could not see
the live do in a span of 24 hours . And also, with the
button location you can put a
geotag or geo tag your video . And it lets you
discover this content according to the area in which it was created.
But, integeration with Twitter is also a disadvantages, or at least an added obligation. And it is that need a social network account to use
Periscope. Periscope only reports of transmissions in Twitter, but not
in other social networks such as Facebook, or instant app LINE Messengger. And if want to Periscope start a streaming takes up to 10 seconds ,
depending on the internet speed that is available. And although it seems a
short time, it can be vital in the live broadcast of an unrepeatable event,
maybe Periscope can record a stream but with this condition the streaming
become less-exclusive. And the last thing is if you frequently use
without connecting to a wireless Internet network, consume a large amount of data of your cell phone contract.
Security :
Periscope is a very safe application. The developer of this application are also part of Twitter.Inc, and I think all of us already know about Twitter safety, right ? So, we don't need to doubt about it.
What TCP and port does Periscope use :
Periscope use 1230 TCP and UDP port.
Conclussion :
Periscope is the very recomended application for your smart phone if you want to know what happen excatly right now in the other side of the world. This application is very fast if you compare it to the other live stream application that ever created, above all I can say that Periscope is a visual pulse of what's happening right now.
